How eBay fees work in 2026
- A 13.6% final value fee for most categories (2.35% on the part above $7,500), plus $0.40 per order ($0.30 at $10 or less).
- Sneakers $150 and up: 8% and no per-order fee. Trading cards: 13.25%. Watches: 15% up to $1,000, 6.5% to $7,500, 3% above.
- eBay charges the fee on the total including shipping; this calculator uses the item price only.

How much does eBay take from a sale in 2026?
For most items, 13.6% of the sale plus $0.40 per order. On a $100 sale you keep about $86 before shipping.
Is eBay cheaper for sneakers?
Yes, for pairs of $150 or more: eBay charges 8% with no per-order fee, which is often less than StockX or GOAT.
eBay or Mercari: which is cheaper?
Mercari's 10% fee is lower than eBay's 13.6% for most items, but eBay has more buyers, which can mean a higher price. Check both sold prices on our item pages.
